Rhonda Baldwin has worked and volunteered in the behavioral health care industry for over 25 years, prior to joining Phoenix Children’s Hospital in 2008 as a pediatric social worker for the bone marrow transplant program. In 2011, she assumed responsibility for managing the social work department at PCH managing over 40 staff across a variety of areas. Previously, she worked for the Arizona Department of Health Services/Division of Behavioral Health Services, as the Deputy Assistant Director in March 1993, and was appointed Assistant Director in January 1996.
She served as Assistant Director until June 1998. In that position, Ms. Baldwin had overall statutory responsibility for the management of a $300 million unified system of statewide behavioral services that incorporated services for children and adults who were both Medicaid and non-Medicaid eligible. Ms. Baldwin also worked as Chief Operating Officer for a private, non-profit behavioral health care corporation with a budget of $30 million and over 150 employees. She received her Masters of Social Work in 1982 and has her Arizona license in Clinical Social Work. She has worked with children and youth experiencing severe emotional problems and with adults who had chronic substance abuse problems.
