James McCreary is a force of service and leadership. After dedicating himself as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army, James has spent the last ten years making a difference in mental health services.
His experience ranges from transitional housing to crisis management, substance use treatment, and advocacy. Before joining Open Hearts, James successfully managed three properties, helping individuals with behavioral health and housing needs access resources and build sustainable lifestyles.
James is a licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona and Colorado, with a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from Capella University and a master’s degree in Psychology from Capella University and a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Iowa. He’s currently pursuing his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Walden University.
James is all about providing top-notch care for clients and helping clinical staff grow. His leadership has made an impact on policy, program development, and performance improvement, ensuring continuity of care for clients.
Outside of work, James finds solace in computer programming, the exhilaration of skydiving, and the fulfillment of coaching wrestling.
