Melissa Cumella is a compassionate servant leader dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others. With a master’s degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role.
As an independently Licensed Professional Counselor with additional certifications in EMDR Basic Training, Certified Wellness Professional, and Certified Clinical Supervisor, Melissa is deeply committed to helping and advocating for youth and children within the Open Hearts community.
Inspired by the wisdom of Dr. Viktor Frankl, Melissa believes in finding joy and empowerment regardless of external circumstances. In her therapeutic practice, she embraces various approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Play Therapy, tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each in ividual.
Rooted in her faith and spirituality, Melissa’s values center around joy, simplicity, and family bonds. Compassion, empathy, and kindness are at the forefront of both her professional and personal life.
Outside of her work, Melissa is actively involved in her church’s special needs ministry and enjoys the art of sourdough bread making. She’s passionate about health and wellness and loves to spend her free time researching and learning about holistic health practices.
